About Apada Sahayak

High mountain communities regularly face hazards such as extreme weather, floods, landslides, and earthquakes. While local people have developed effective ways of living with these risks, climate change and rapid development are creating new challenges.
Apada Sahayak is a free disaster risk reduction platform developed collaboratively with Government of India agencies and local communities. It enables the sharing of local knowledge, improves awareness of emerging risks, and supports adaptation, emergency response, recovery, and long term resilience. Together, these actions help communities become safer, better informed, and more prepared for future hazards.
